City Apartment | Cheshire Interior Design Project
This vibrant apartment in the heart of Chester city centre is one of our most personal and expressive projects to date, a home that reflects its owner completely, from the carefully chosen colour palette to the last considered accessory.
The client came to us with a clear vision: a space that felt genuinely hers. Bold, warm, and full of character, but also calm, considered, and effortlessly sophisticated. The result is a beautiful fusion of two complementary aesthetics: bohemian warmth and modern elegance. Where bohemian design brings colour, texture, personality, and a sense of life fully lived, contemporary sophistication brings clarity, craftsmanship, and quiet confidence. Together they create something that feels both vibrant and deeply serene, a home you want to live in every hour of the day.
The Living Room
The living room is the heart of the apartment and the space where the bohemian-meets-modern aesthetic is most fully expressed. Warm neutral tones drawn from natural materials, raw linen, rattan, and aged wood, form the calm, sophisticated foundation of the scheme. Against this restrained backdrop, rich jewel-toned accents introduce personality and warmth: deep terracotta, forest green, and burnished gold woven through cushions, throws, artwork, and carefully chosen accessories.
Furniture was selected for its craftsmanship as much as its visual impact. Every piece earns its place, nothing is decorative without also being functional, and nothing is functional without being beautiful. The layering of textures and tones gives the room a sense of depth and richness that feels genuinely luxurious without ever tipping into excess.
The Kitchen
The kitchen balances the apartment's expressive character with a cleaner, more considered approach, keeping the space practical and uncluttered while maintaining the warmth and personality of the overall scheme. Textured surfaces, natural materials, and carefully placed styling details connect it seamlessly to the rest of the home, ensuring continuity of character without competing for attention. Sophisticated in its restraint, it is a space that works beautifully for everyday living.
The Bedrooms
Both bedrooms were designed as personal sanctuaries, spaces to rest, restore, and feel completely at ease.
The principal bedroom leans into the more sophisticated, contemporary influence: a refined palette, beautifully crafted furniture, and layers of tactile natural textiles that create a sense of quiet luxury. The overall mood is calm and unhurried, a deliberate contrast to the more expressive energy of the living spaces.
The second bedroom brings more of the bohemian warmth to the fore, warmer, more expressive, with pattern and colour used with confidence and care. It feels personal and inviting, a space with genuine character and a sense of joy.
The Result
What makes this Chester interior design project particularly special is how completely it reflects the person who lives in it. There is nothing generic here, every room, every surface, every object has been chosen with intention and placed with care.
The home achieves something genuinely rare: it is sophisticated without being cold, expressive without being chaotic, and personal without being cluttered. It feels curated rather than decorated, individual rather than styled, the work of a designer who listened carefully and a client who knew her own mind.
It is a reminder that the most extraordinary interiors are not always the grandest or the most expensive. They are the ones that tell a true story about the people who live in them, and do so with beauty, warmth, and complete conviction.
